You asked:

Do college kids dress up for Halloween, or is that lame?

Most college kids I know will use just about any excuse to unwind and cut loose … so a holiday that involves costumes and candy? Bring it on! I’ve seen entire freshman halls go to a party together dressed in some common theme, like Disney princesses or video game characters. Costume parties are pretty much a universal form of college entertainment, and Halloween is no exception. Greek or not, freshman or upperclassman, someone you know will probably be doing something fun for Halloween, and chances are they will be in costume. Some dorms or organizations host trick-or-treating, either for fun or for a charity like Unicef. I’ve heard of music ensembles doing Halloween concerts and giving prizes for the best costumes. In historic areas, like at my school, a dress-up ghost tour is a Halloween favorite. For those who aren’t into dressing up, a few scary movies are always playing somewhere on campus -- with free candy and popcorn usually available!
